Property Appraiser and State Attorney work together to fight elder abuse and fraud

October 23, 2025

Broward Property Appraiser Marty Kiar and Broward State Attorney Harold F. Pryor have been working with our law enforcement partners to fight against elder abuse, fraud, and exploitation, and to hold offenders accountable.

They are also dedicated to preventing crimes from happening whenever possible. Our teams work together on outreach programs to assist seniors and their family and friends to learn about these types of crimes and help them to protect themselves and access resources to assist them.

“Our Broward County seniors are precious to us and we are committed to protecting them and to empowering them,” said State Attorney Pryor. “Preventing a crime from happening is the best possible outcome for everyone.”

“Broward County has one of the largest and most vulnerable senior populations in the United States. We have teamed up to provide our senior community with helpful information about important senior services. Together, we are working to help protect seniors from fraud and abuse!”
